GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.
Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program.
To be eligible for this award, applicants must:
- demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
- demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
- demonstrate financial need;
- be citizens of the United States of America;
- be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States (students living on U.S. Armed Forces base and homeschooled students are also eligible); and
- plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study toward a bachelor’s degree at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States for the entire upcoming academic year.

New York State Credit Union League Scholarship
The applicant must be a member in good standing of a participating New York credit union who meets all of the following criteria:
• The member is a college-bound high school senior at the time of application.
• The member is attending college for the first time in the fall of 2019.
• The member will be enrolled in either a two- or four-year accredited educational institution.
• The member agrees to use any scholarship funds awarded by January 31, 2020, at an accredited educational institution only.

Lauren L. Monaghan – Scholarship for Women in Engineering
Lauren Monaghan, P.E is a 2001 Graduate of Arkport Central School
1. Must be a female member of Arkport Central School graduating Class of 2018.
2. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in college/secondary education in the fall of 2018 pursuing a degree in engineering.
3. Applications must be received by Student Services by January 30.
4. Applicants are requested to provide a short (250-word minimum – 650-word maximum) essay to describe why they are choosing to pursue a degree in Engineering and what their immediate or long-range career plans are.
** The winner will be chosen to receive this award in the amount of $500. Awards will be mailed to the recipients by mid-July.

America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund
This new program is working to keep young adults in agriculture by giving them the opportunity to earn a $1,500 scholarship to further their education. At the same time, raising awareness of the diverse career opportunities in our industry.
November 15 through February 1 students can apply online at
www.FFA.org/scholarships. Farmers can endorse applicants through February 8.
Nicholas H. Noyes Memorial Auxiliary Scholarship
Scholarships will be awarded to qualified students matriculating in an associate or bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university in medicine, nursing, or in another health-related field, including dentistry, ophthalmology, and pharmacy.

SWE scholarships for the 2018-2019 academic year will be available December 1, 2017!
We have 2 applications depending on your class level for the upcoming fall semester and these are typically available:

The Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York "Ned Carter Scholarship
This $1500 scholarship is for NYS High School Seniors who will be graduating in June. The student must be related to or be a firefighter in an affiliated member organization of the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York and must reside within New York State.

New York Rural Water Association Scholarship
The New York Water Environment Association offers $50,000 in scholarships in the areas of Environmental Studies, Public Service and general scholarships

Barbara Wheeler Schneider Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded each year to an Arkport Central School senior based upon their scholastic ability and demonstrated concern for their fellow classmates.
Applicants must submit a typed summary of why they feel they should be considered for the award.
You should also include service type activities that you have done in school, in your church, with the scouts, the community or for any person or group which would "demonstrate concern by the individual."
Information for this scholarship will be handed out in class.

Hornell Rotary Club Scholarship
This scholarship is available to any senior who plans to attend college. All applicants must submit a statement of character from one of their current teachers and/or someone who is acquainted with your community service activity. Submit a typewritten statement in your own words on your reason for applying for the Rotary award. Add information on your background and activities in school and community, especially as they relate to the Rotary mission of "Self Service Above Self." HAMMOND COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: In memory of George M. Hammond, devoted educator, Rotarian and community servant, the Hornell Rotary Club will present a cash award with a plaque of recognition to a graduating High School Senior from the area. This young man or woman must have exemplified community service and show promise of continuing the ideals shared by Rotary and other community service organizations.
NOMINATIONS: may be made by a teacher, a school official, a member of the Hornell Rotary Club, or by other community service organizations. Selections will be made primarily on the basis of community action and service. The winner may or may not have the highest academic average, nor necessarily plan on going to college. He or she must be a person of good character.
RECOGNITION PLAQUE will be presented to the recipient at his or her High School Graduation ceremonies, if possible; while the MONETARY AWARD will be presented at a Rotary meeting when the recipient can be the guest of the Rotary.

The Gunther & Lee Weigel Medical School Scholarship -
The Elks National Foundation is pleased to offer an exclusive scholarship opportunity just for Elks scholars pursuing a medical degree or Osteopathic Medicine degree. This Gunther & Lee Weigel Medical School Scholarships are $20,000 scholarships offered to Elks scholars (current or alum) entering their first year of medical school. The scholarship established through the generosity of the late Lee Weigel, widow of Gunther Weigel.

The Hornell Kiwanis Club will give two business scholarships. The recipients will be chosen from applications received from BOCES and other are high schools. Send a student narrative or resume with application. The student must be interested in obtaining a business degree and have taken business courses in high school such as; accounting, marketing, and sales, business, typing. The student must be accepted by a school for further study toward a business career.

Purpose of Scholarships
AES Engineering is pleased to be able to continue offering scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education.
Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason, we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted.
Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility.
You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.
How to Apply
Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question:
When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?

Arkport Faculty Association Scholarship
The Arkport Faculty Association will award a $1,000 scholarship to one (1) Arkport Central School District graduating senior entering the field of education or a health profession. The award will be paid in two $500 installments.

- Must be a member of the graduating Class of 2018.
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in college/secondary education in the fall of 2018.

Arkport PTSO Character Award
The Arkport PTSO gives $300.00 to a graduating senior that contributes positively to our school and community, genuinely cares about people, is self-disciplined and works to the best of their ability.
- The student must intend to continue their education after high school including a 4-year college, 2-year college, technical degree, trade or vocational school training or part-time students pursuing a degree while working.
- Must be a graduating senior
- Must have a GPA of 80 or higher
- Must have good attendance
- Completed application including student's self-rating form

VAC Employees Federal Credit Union Membership Scholarship
The Board established this scholarship in 2001 and has been able to offer several $500 scholarships every year since. We hope to continue this tradition to help our college-bound members with their continued educational expenses. Dansville Fish and Game, Inc.
The Dansville Fish and Game Club is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior.
1. Applicant must be graduating high school student entering an accredited college in the United States
2. Applicant must wish to pursue a career in conservation, conservation biology, environmental protection, conservation science, wildlife and forestry, natural resources, wildlife management, aquatic and fisheries science (freshwater or marine science) environmental biology, wildlife science, natural resource conservation, etc.

Paul J. “Wink” Wolfgruber Jr. and Paul J. Wolfgruber Memorial Scholarship $1,000.00 Scholarship
A scholarship in memory of Paul “Wink” Wolfgruber, Jr. (who attended ACS with the Class of 1965 and who lost his life in a motorcycle accident during the summer before his senior year) and his father Dr. Paul J. Wolfgruber (a local physician for many years in the Arkport area) has been established in the amount of $1,000 ($500.00 a year for two (2) years).
Eligibility: This scholarship is available to any senior from ACS who has an interest in pursuing a medical career while attending a two (2) or four (4) year college
C. Jack Wraight Memorial Scholarship $500.00 Scholarship
A scholarship in the memory of Jack Wraight, past administrator, educator and coach at Arkport Central School has been established by his family and friends in the amount of $500.00.
Eligibility: This scholarship is available to any senior pursuing a career in education with a two (2) or four (4) year college or any senior who will be seeking additional training in a trade field such as welding, electrician, plumber, construction etc.… Special consideration will be given to any applicants who were reliable participants in athletics and who has represented themselves and their school well.
Canisteo Valley Historical Society/Arkport Historical Society Scholarship $300.00 Scholarship
A scholarship from the Historical Society is being given by their membership to any senior with a love of history or who will be majoring in History or has a financial need.
Eligibility: Any senior attending a two (2) or four (4) year college majoring in history or indicates their love of history.
Arkport Alumni Association - $400.00 Scholarships
Through donations from ACS alumni, the Arkport Alumni Association is offering several $400.00 scholarships to graduating seniors.
Eligibility: Any senior who is attending a two (2) or four (4) college or attending a trade school is eligible to apply.
Guideline For Applying For Scholarships
Applications must be submitted and include the following information:
Name, mailing address, email address, home phone number and cell phone number
List name of scholarship(s) applying for by graduate
List all extra-curricular/athletic actives in and out of school during high school years including position,
Pres., VP, Capt. etc. and years in club/sport 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th.
Provide a 350-word essay describing goals, reasons for choosing a future profession and any information
you feel appropriate.

This $1000 scholarship is available to a student that plans to attend Alfred State College. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must attend Arkport, Avoca, Canisteo-Greenwood, Wayland-Cohocton, Hornell or Jasper-Troupsburg school. The application will be available in the guidance office in March.

Ronald McDonald House Charities NY Tri-State Area
RMHC funds the largest scholarship in the NY Tri-State area, and this year, the organization is giving more than $725,000 in scholarship funds to local students. The program seeks to identify and support students in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement.
All students may apply regardless of ethnic heritage for the RMHC Scholars Program. (Asian, African American, and Hispanic students are welcome to apply for the RMHC Scholars program provided they have not applied for any of the other scholarship programs that RMHC sponsors).

DECA/Collegiate DECA Student Scholarship
DECA's scholarship program provides over $300,000 in scholarships at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) each year. Many corporate partners of DECA provide scholarships through the DECA Scholarship Program. DECA Inc. administers the program based on guidelines set by the donor. DECA scholarships are strictly merit-based.

Manning & Napier Advisors Scholarship Program - No new information
Manning & Napier has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors in the greater Rochester, New York area who plan to continue their education. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited four-year college or university of the student's choice.
